What to do without Shae around Part 3

This week, along with Summer Music Camp, we also had Rock School. Rock School is for the older kids we teach and is a chance for them to play together as a band instead of just taking individual lessons. It's a lot harder to play with a band than you would think and so the week turns out to be pretty challenging for the kids. This year was so much fun. We had a great group of kids at all different skill levels. We spend 4 days practicing and then..........the performance :)

Our set list for this year was Next Year - the Foo Fighters;  FreeBird - Lynrd Skynrd; Surfin USA - The Beach Boys; and School's Out - Alice Cooper. We also attempted Hey Jude by the Beatles but it was a band decision to cut it from the performance.

Below are some pictures of everyone during rehearsal the first few days.

This is the actual performance.......and yes we were a garage band

Here they all are Rock School 2008 and the crowd that gathered to watch the performance.

I was working on our blog and clicked on "next blog" and yours came up. I looked and thought I recognize that baby and momma. Then I clicked on December and saw Tricia and Uncle Shannon and Elizabeth, then I couldn't believe I had ramdomly found your blog. The baby is precious-she's not a baby anymore. Now I can keep updated and see her in her Jellybeans clothes.

This is so fun! You guys are so good at what you do. And don't worry... your baby is having fun too. :) She plays "hide" with (from) Uncle Shannon! Too cute.

You guys are offering such a cool thing. Seriously...I would like to come to Rock School. I'd love to hear you teach and to be involved in something like that. What a great thing you offer to the kids.

Keep rockin'
