Last week Em and Rob moved into their new house so I (Ashleigh) took the kids and headed to Wake Forest to help them pack and move. The kids did pretty well entertaining themselves while we worked.
Here they are cooking supper.
Notice their faces. Not just the sidewalks got covered in chalk :)
Cadence loved helping with baby Jane. On this day she picked out her outfit and fed her a whole bottle!
First meal at the new house. KFC on the ground/in the back of the van.
Peeling wallpaper. Janey did a good job just hanging out with us - until Tyler stepped on her head. Then it was time to go!

Today we had Cadence's actual Birthday party for this year. She's a very girly-girl at this stage in her life so we went with that to give her a super girly party. It was a tea party for girls only where we all got to dress up and be princesses. The girls had a great time. The weather was beautiful - overall a great day for a princess party.
I still laugh about the fact that I have somehow raised this very girly girl. I really don't know how it happened but I'm learning to love dress up, make up, the perfect hair bow and shoes to an outfit, etc. Probably mostly because this little girl has completely stolen our hearts and anything that she loves we love, just because it brings her so much joy and regardless of what it is.
The decorations. I attempted a tea cup cake....my icing was a little runny :(
The dress-up box we picked our accessories from and the tea table
All the girls picking out the perfect accessory for their outfit :)
We had lipstick, eye shadow, and fingernail polish to add the perfect touch!
The girls table having tea or lemonade and snacks
Kay Kay got Cadence a new Belle dress and then her actual party dress was covered up and she HAD to be Belle the rest of the time!

For Cadence's birthday on Monday, we celebrated as a family for the whole day. I think Cadence was really into it. She figured out pretty early in the morning that she was going to get about everything she wanted if her reasoning for it was "I'm the birthday girl" After naptime, she wanted to go to Karen's pool to go swimming and have her "happy birshday take" so that's exactly what we did!
After swimming it was dinner time and Cadence picked Red Robin for her birthday dinner. And we certainly didn't disagree because who doesn't love bottomless steak fries?!?!?
After dinner we came home and it was time to open presents from the grandparents.
the yellow GiGi tuned in on Skype to watch the present opening.
A PINK CHAIR FOR A PINK PRINCESS!! (who now has her own camera, flashlight, and radio with headphones - also pink)
