Shaun Turns 2!!

It's so crazy to believe that our baby is 2 years old. Where have the years gone??  We woke up on this St. Patricks Day morning ready to celebrate our sweet baby boy - complete with his birthday pancakes (which weren't pretty but were delicious!!)
My attempt at a homemade birthday cake completely fell apart but Daddy saved the day by just going to the store and buying a green cake! We took off the toppings that were on it and put our frogs instead and were back in business!!

Since Shaun's birthday fell on a Monday night and so does our small group for church, we just turned small group into a party! We went to one of our favorite pizza places for dinner and there just happened to be a magician there performing for the evening. We love when free entertainment shows up for a birthday!!  and I can guarantee that this will be the only Andersen birthday ever to have a magician at the party :)

After Pizza and the Magician came PRESENTS!!

which were quickly taken by older brothers...

Shaun didn't mind tho because after presents meant cake time :)

We got home and the last present for the day was a new bubble mower. AWESOME!!  What a perfect gift for our boy!  Overall it was such a fun day celebrating 2 years of life in this little man. Although we haven't known him for all of his 2 years, we are so grateful for his life and that God has brought him into the Andersen clan. We couldn't imagine life without this precious boy!

February Phone Dump

February was another fairly low-key month in our world. School, winter, preschool, snow, warm weather, everything you need for a typical February!

Lollipops - compliments of Aunt Connie for Valentines Day!

Daddy opening a package from Grammie and doling out all the Valentines fun inside.
 Charis LOVED her boots!

The time difference in these 2 pictures is exactly 7 days. Welcome to NC!

We set up Cadence with a bedroom of her own.
She loves her big girl bed and that she now has a desk in her room to do her school at.

This was our attempt at a Valentines picture. I used to be way better at them :)

This boy - he's an odd fellow.
The naked pic is after being out in the snow and he was trying to warm up.
The headband…well that's just how Creed rolls.

In all fairness, these 3 aren't much more normal! Definitely more Nurture than Nature going on here!

and this day Creed was being a rocking guitar player. He's got awesome moves ;)

Snow Day!!!

February brought our big snow day(s) for the year. Thankfully in NC, we get just a couple a year and they tend to melt pretty quickly :)

This is a time laps of the back yard over 6-8 hours. We were pretty excited for this much snow!

See the excitement???    Snow days make a mama pull out all the creative stuff - or turn on the television. Thankfully puzzles and playdoh are lots of fun!

Then after gathering enough warm clothes for 5 littles, everybody heads out for like 8 minutes of fun. But it's a well documented 8 minutes ;)

Lots of fun happens on a snow day. Like playing on a snowy swing set, shoveling a snowy driveway, building a Snow Man, eating snow, etc.

then everyone realizes how badly their hands are burning and that they can't feel their faces from the cold and so there are lots of tears and warm baths while the fireplace is going full blast.

I love that our big girl is getting big enough for a snow day to turn into a reading day…hopefully in the next few years this will be the pattern for all the Andersens!

January Phone Dump

After a ridiculously stressful, busy and somewhat fun holiday season,
we were all so glad for a low key January.
According to pictures, almost nothing happened but here's a few everyday moments along the way.
