Easter stuff

Because of going to church and heading home from there on Sunday, we did most of our Easter stuff on Saturday night. Cadence had so much fun coloring eggs, hiding and hunting the eggs, and she loved all her Easter basket stuff.

This is our only picture of Easter Sunday morning. (Sorry Mom) Cadence was very cute in her pink dress from Grammie with the matching hairbow and headband made my Aunt April.

Saturday night with all the loot. Even Jack got to get in on the action.

Sorry about the flash. Cadence was holding up her new Bible that she got (there will be a separate post on it later)

Coloring eggs with Uncle Joe and Daddy

Chris' turn to hunt the eggs. Cadence made it easy for him to find them because she told him where they all were. Except one...she couldn't remember where it was so it was a surprise to all of us when we found it!

Chris gave Cadence a black jelly bean. she didn't like it

Her turn to hunt the eggs "where is 'em Daddy?"  "I dot it!"

Trying a hard boiled egg. She didn't like it either :)

Spring Break... a continuation

After leaving Memphis we went to Grain Valley, Missouri to visit with Chris' family. We had such a great time seeing everyone and Cadence LOVED getting to play with her cousins Jack and Jesse. Here are some of the pics from our time just hanging out with everyone.

Cadence and I were hiding under the covers (her favorite hiding spot) while Daddy was looking for us in yet another game of hide-n-seek

Joe and Lisa have this great mall not far from their house so we went to it to look around and let Cadence play. This is the mascot for the Kansas City something...baseball maybe? I don't know but Cadence actually wasn't scared of him so that was huge in our world!
Playing in the giant play area at the mall.

Cadence and Chris are on the top level of the carousel
Cadence was a big helper with baby Jack and wanted to hold him and had lots of questions about him. Well, really she just has lots of questions in general but for the weekend most of them were directed to Jack.

Playing in the back yard with Aunt Lisa, Aunt Danielle and cousin Jesse.

Another morning in the Andersen House

I know that I still have more of our Spring break trip to post. All the fun egg/Easter stuff and it will come...but for now this video was too good to not post. Click HERE to watch it. :)

and Liz, just so you know, if I had my own blog that wasn't about Cadence I would have to post that today I figured out how to get red koolaid off of my counter tops :)

more of Memphis (see post below)

Amber has this great dog named Charley. Cadence LOVED him (no surprise there). She would ride on his back, and he would jump on her, it was lots of fun.

We colored Easter eggs at Amber's house. Cadence did pretty well with it. She wanted to do all of it herself but luckily Amber is a great one-girl clean up crew. So, every time Cadence would slop dye onto the table or counter, Amber was quick to clean it up!  :)  Cadence had such a great time with Amber (and Chris and I did too). She is still talking about her fun seeing the tigers at the zoo and playing with Charley. Thanks Amber for letting us crash at your place for a couple of days.

Our finished eggs complete with stickers.

Memphis Zoo

On Wednesday we went to Memphis to see my cousin Amber. The zoo in Memphis has pandas at it and the weather was beautiful so we decided to go see the animals. After several snow days it was so great to be outside.

Here is Cadence looking at the fish outside the Panda exhibit.
Petting the pretend panda :)  Didn't get any pics of the actual pandas because they were so entertaining to us that we were laughing and forgot all about pictures (oops)
Elephants
Sea Lions
Polar Bears!!  They were super cool and Cadence wasn't scared at all.
This was how she spent most of the time at the zoo looking at the animals.
Monkeys with Amber
The zoo had a petting zoo area that was fun (once we actually found something that could be petted). Cadence liked the cows.

Looking at the pigs with Amber and Mr. Robert.
This cow was fun to sit on.
According to Chris ;)

Snow Day

Tuesday it snowed all day long in Tennessee. We made the best of it figuring how many more days this year are we going to get to see snow. Cadence had been wanting to play in the arcade at the community center so here are the pictures of her playing all the games. After all the playing we also went to see a movie which Cadence really liked (mostly because there was popcorn involved) but the pics are of the arcade.

I hope you enjoy!

Our Trip so far...

Sweet Cadence Shae sleeping on the way to the resort.

The place we're staying is super nice. Our favorite parts so far are the 2 pictures below.

Living room with fireplace
entire room dedicated to the jacuzzi tub :)
Chris and I reminisced this morning about when we used to go on vacation and sleep really late, if not most of the day. This is no longer the case. This morning we were up at 6, and dressed and on our way to the pool by 8 AM!!!

Cadence complete with bed-head as we got into the pool.
You can't tell by the picture, but it's snowing. All day, snow has fallen in Tennessee. It's beautiful but makes for a long day with our sweet Cadence. We've played Jenga, went thru the Resurrection eggs AND the Nativity stable stories (complete with props) made cookies, went to Wal-Mart, and as I write this,  we're back at the pool.
Making cookies. Cadence wanted to line them up all in one big long row on the cookie sheet :)
While they baked she talked to Lizzie on the phone. I'm glad it's not our phone bill.....

and these were taken in the pool the 2nd time around. You might be wondering why I'm blogging and not in the pool - you might not be wondering that at all but if you keep reading you're going to find out either way :)  Cadence wanted to come to the pool and we were waiting for the towels to dry from our pool excursion this morning. She came into the living room and said to Chris and I "Mommy, me and Daddy and Shae are going fwimming and you stay here and cook supper."  This wasn't really the plan because I was going to go swimming WITH them but she felt differently about it. I'm not really sad about it because it's snowing outside and the thought of taking off my clothes to put on a bathing suit is not in any way appealing to me so I didn't really fight the idea. So, while they're in the pool right now, I'm sitting in the community center lobby, by the fireplace, blogging :)
